Duvel Barrel Aged, the Irish Whiskey Edition (Batch No. 7), is a unique strong tasting beer (11.5% ABV), brewed with respect for the authentic taste of Duvel but with a surprising Irish twist -- smoky notes of oak, vanilla and a hint of peat, plus a beautiful copper color -- all thanks to careful aging in oak whiskey barrels from the renowned Teeling distillery in the heart of Dublin.

It's made to be enjoyed with friends and family. Perfect to serve at the end of a festive meal or next to a crackling fire.

A beer that has aged to perfection deserves special treatment. Ideally, you should serve Duvel Barrel Aged Irish Whiskey Edition at a temperature between 8°C and 10°C.

The heavenly aroma is best appreciated in the specially designed glass that comes in the gift box. A wine glass, a tulip glass or a tumbler can, of course, also be used to enjoy a Duvel Barrel Aged. One 25.4 oz screen-printed bottle and one glass..

NOTE: In order to ship gift sets safely, we disassemble (or partially disassemble) them. All components (including the box and glassware) are shipped.

The Duvel Moortgat Brewery was founded in 1871 by husband and wife Jan-Leonard Moortgat and Maria de Bock. Their brewery farm joined an already crowded brewers market (some 4000 distinct breweries existed in Belgium at the time) but hard work, tenacity, and the brewer's craft evident in their top-fermented ales enabled them to build a loyal customer base.

By the turn of the 20th century, the brewery's reputation for quality was firmly established and it had become a family enterprise as sons Albert and Victor joined the business.

The end of the First World War saw the introduction of "Victory Ale," a beer whose recipe was modeled after great English ales of the time; soon renamed "Duvel," the brew became a sensation locally and then internationally, and remains to this day the brewery's flagship ale.

Still overseen by a fourth generation of the Moortgat clan, Duvel Moortgat today is an international brand with presences in Belgium, the Czech Republic, and the United States, and distribution worldwide.
